{"id":1735,"date":"2016-11-25T10:56:35","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T16:56:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sisleridm.com\/?p=1735"},"modified":"2016-11-25T10:56:35","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T16:56:35","slug":"2-new-vfs-females-technology-scholarships-sisleridm-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sislercreate.com\/Animation\/2016\/11\/25\/2-new-vfs-females-technology-scholarships-sisleridm-students\/","title":{"rendered":"2 New @VFS Females in Technology Scholarships for @SislerIDM students"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>VFS\u00a0WOMEN IN TECH\u00a0SCHOLARSHIP<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Vancouver Film School has set up\u00a0<strong>2<\/strong>\u00a0Women in Tech Entrance Scholarship to a female student who meets the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student must be accepted (or has applied) the relevant VFS program within one calendar year of graduating from Sisler High School before receiving scholarship,<\/li>\n<li>Student must apply for scholarship,<\/li>\n<li>Sisler staff to select the successful candidates,<\/li>\n<li>Sisler staff will consult with VFS Educational Administration and Admission in the awarding of the scholarships<\/li>\n<li>VFS reserves the right to review and approve scholarship winners based on the mutually agreed upon criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Female Student who has the highest average grade from the courses from 9-12 in the listed course pathway from section F of the MOU, (<strong>note:<\/strong>and\/or satisfies the criteria determined by the scholarship selection committee.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tuition reduction can be applied directly to the total VFS tuition in an academic year for the following programs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3D Animation and Visual Effects<\/li>\n<li>Game Design<\/li>\n<li>Programming for Games, Web and Mobile<\/li>\n<li>Digital Design<\/li>\n<li>Sound Design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The \u201cVFS Women in Tech\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Scholarships will be awarded by a Selection Committee, comprising of 2 faculty members from Sisler High School and 1 member from the VFS Admissions team. The Selection Committee will assess submissions based on students\u2019 demonstrated academic excellence and future potential as a media professional. Sisler will consult with VFS Educational Administration and Admission in the awarding of the \u201cVFS Women in Acting\u201d Scholarships each year.\u00a0 VFS reserves the right to review and approve scholarship winners based on the mutually agreed upon criteria.<\/p>\n<h3>NOTE:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Women in Tech Scholarship is a cumulative award and can be combined with the Merit-based Scholarships offered at VFS.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Women in Tech Scholarship\u00a0<u>cannot be combined\u00a0<\/u>with an Excellence in Media or Horizon scholarship.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The\u00a0<u>program start date\u00a0<\/u>for Scholarship recipients is subject to seat availability during the 6 or 3 term intake of the desired
