{"id":2330,"date":"2017-01-04T10:47:21","date_gmt":"2017-01-04T16:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sisleridm.com\/?p=2330"},"modified":"2017-01-04T10:47:21","modified_gmt":"2017-01-04T16:47:21","slug":"celebration-game-app-design-coding-manitoba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sislercreate.com\/Animation\/2017\/01\/04\/celebration-game-app-design-coding-manitoba\/","title":{"rendered":"A Celebration of #Game, #App Design &amp;\u00a0#Coding in Manitoba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Game On is Sisler High School\u2019s annual game conference where students can learn from industry experts, showcase a game\/app and build a game\/app.\u00a0 This year\u2019s conference is a two-day event.\u00a0 The first day will consist of student workshop led by industry experts where students will learn different skills to create a game.\u00a0 On the second day students (grade 6-8) will create their own game and learn 21st\u00a0century skills such as collaborating, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. \u00a0Students in grades 9-12 will demonstrate a game or app they have worked on over the past year in a \u201cGame Demo Fair\u201d and be judged by industry. \u00a0These skills have always been important for students, and now in the 21st\u00a0century these skills are now more essential than ever. Students need to think deeply, solve problems creatively, work in teams, communicate clearly, and learn new technologies as they create their game.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<strong>Sorry, but Registration is closed!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thursday, February 2\u00a0and Friday, February 3 of Exam week @ end of Semester 1<\/li>\n<li><strong>Who can participate:<\/strong>\u00a0Students in grades 6-12 from any Winnipeg School Division school<\/li>\n<li><strong>Team size:<\/strong>\u00a0 3 students per team (maximum of 3 teams\u00a0per school \u2026 excluding Sisler).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where: \u00a0<\/strong>Sisler IDM<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fee:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0No Fee (thanks to partners)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lunch &amp;
