Streaming content right now \u2014 there\u2019s a lot of demand for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"The Orange Tree Project Sept 25\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/465105069?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;And a lot of companies, a lot of studios are trying to engage more artists, more young people to actually look at going into the arts as a way of actually sustaining themselves and giving them a career path,&#8221; Jamie Leduc, a CREATE instructor, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stay informed<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest updates on the novel coronavirus and COVID-19.<a>SIGN UP<\/a><small>I agree to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winnipegfreepress.com\/terms-conditions\/\">Terms and Conditions, Cookie and Privacy Policies<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fpnewsplatform.winnipegfreepress.com\/casl_consent\">CASL agreement<\/a>.<\/small><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will also enable students to build connections in the industry, which are crucial to success. Leduc explained that this may help students advance their careers while remaining in Winnipeg, now that the COVID-19 pandemic has normalized working from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"The Orange Tree Project Oct 2\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/465105045?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;One thing that\u2019s really interesting when you look at the economy right now is that the animation industry is thriving in the new world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Animation studios can survive because they can basically assign people wherever they\u2019re working on their scenes. So it\u2019s an amazing time to be an artist and to be going into the (industry), because I think a lot of students in Winnipeg could probably start working for studios remotely, once they have the training.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grade 11 student Kimberly Chau, who said she wants to pursue a career in animation, said she is excited about this opportunity because it\u2019s not something that is often accessible to immigrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Immigrants usually don\u2019t have these opportunities,&#8221; Chau said. &#8220;I think it\u2019s really nice because a lot of us are, or at least our parents were, immigrants \u2026 My parents don\u2019t really see this industry as something you can do as a career.
