On May 25 2023, 12 CREATE students travelled to Los Angeles to pitch their projects to Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon has been mentoring CREATE students since 2018 as part of The Orange Tree Project, an initiative where Nickelodeon artists meet with students monthly to offer feedback and mentorship.
Nickelodeon invited CREATE to visit their studio to pitch in person. The trip was made possible by donations from The Schroeder Foundation, Toon Boom Animation and WestJet.
While in Los Angeles, the students also visited Sony Pictures (hosted by Arnon Manor and Kelsey Bascom), toured Disney Animation Studios and visited the Nickelodeon studio.
