Alumni Spotlight: Ritvick Mehra!

During his Interactive Digital Media and Project Management courses (also known as Digital Voices), Ritvick worked on projects that ranged from advertising the yearbook, to a documentary-style promotional video aimed at attracting companies to Winnipeg.

After graduating from Sisler in 2016, Ritvick received a scholarship to pursue his studies in Vancouver Film School’s Film Production program. Ritvick worked with other Sisler Alumni, Janelle King, Kara Vallega, and Kevin Solis, to start up the company Digital Dropkick which received $20,000 in funding to produce the documentary “The Big Picture”.

Ritvick graduated from VFS in 2018 and got straight to work as a Film Commission Services Assistant at Manitoba Film & Music. He then worked for a few months as an Assistant-to-Producer at Universal Pictures.

Currently, Ritvick is an up-and-coming freelance filmmaker. His company, Butter Chicken Films Inc., has produced many films over the years including “Lover Boy’s Little Dream” an animated short dubbed 2023 Promofest Short Of The Year Best Animation, “The Flower Movie” which was made for the 48-Hour Run N Gun film festival and won Best Cinematography in the Student Film category in the 2018 East Van Showcase, and many more featured on his website ritvickmehra.com.

Ritvicks favourite memories in Sisler include discussing movies and music with his teacher Mr. DL during lunch, and butting heads with friend/rival at the time Gerard Jacinto. Followed closely to being challenged by Mr Leduc daily.
