Xierra graduated from the CREATE program in 2023 having received multiple Shroeder merit awards, the Carole Vivier scholarship, and a full-ride scholarship to Vancouver Film School.
During her time as a student, Xierra worked with Nickelodeon mentors to produce the 3-minute animated short Grim Companion, and in the following year teamed up with Kimberly Chau to create an original series pitch named Day’s Eye. In Post High, she landed an animation internship with Nelvana studios and got to work on Thomas and Friends: All Engines Go!
Xierra displays her love of animation and music through her YouTube channel, XrayAlphaCharlie, where she posts videos that feature her own original characters as well as music videos for the indie-rock band, Good Kid!
Ever since she discovered her love of posting content online for millions to enjoy, Xierra’s goal has been to put her full-time effort into growing her YouTube channel. She also hopes to continue doing freelance work so that she may give back to other aspiring animators, just as other alumni have done for her.
“My favourite memory [in CREATE was] doing the Nelvana Internship in 2022-23 and becoming closer with the people I now call my very good friends.”
