Congratulations to CREATE students, Kaya Schulz and Julia Vallega for being awarded scholarships from Toon Boom Animation, and Maria de Mesa, Avril Gragera, and Damen Espinosa for receiving a financial reward and customized Jets jersey from the Winnipeg Jets, Keila De Leon winning the Perseverance Award, and Avril again winning the Leadership Award from Wacom!
The Toon Boom Animation Top Animation Student of the year Scholarship (selected by her peers in grade 11, 12 & post-high) – Kaya Schulz. Kaya received a financial scholarship plus one year licences for Storyboard Pro and Harmony.
The Toon Boom Animation Top Storyboarding Student of the year Scholarship (selected by her peers in grade 11, 12 & post-high) – Julia Vallega. Julia received a financial scholarship plus one year licences for Storyboard Pro and Harmony.
The Winnipeg Jets Filipino Heritage Awards – Maria de Mesa, Avril Gragera, and Damen Espinosa (one more award will be given to a student from the film cohort in June). Students received a financial award plus a customized Jets jersey.
The Perseverance Award – Keila De Leon. Thanks to Tomas Pajdlhauser, Paul Watling, Kyle Marshall and Bert Youn on signing a very special book for Keila. Keila also received a year’s license of Storyboard Pro.
The Wacom Leadership Award – Avril Gragera who received an amazing award.
