NiCE and Sisler CREATE Panel:
Nickelodeon Community Efforts (NiCE) presents Sisler High School’s Orange Tree Project
Get inspired by the high schoolers learning animation at Winnipeg’s Sisler High School! Hear from the students, their teacher, and their Nickelodeon mentors as they share their high school filmmaking journey and offer insights into balancing creative and academic projects, gaining new technical and artistic skills, and collaborating with the industry professionals at Nickelodeon.
The Orange Tree Project (OTP):
An animation mentorship program with artists from Nickelodeon. Last year, five mentors meet with a group of both high school and post-high CREATE students once amonth to give feedback on the creation of two animated short films. An OTP animated series development mentorship project with Nickelodeon. Six students in the CREATE post-high program are worked with four mentors on the creation of a series from concept to show bible, etc.

CREATE program:
École Secondaire Sisler High School, part of The Winnipeg School Division (WSD), is the largest publicly funded high school in Manitoba serving over 1800 students. The program provides students with hands-on experiences and real-world opportunities through its offering of 24 courses in animation, game design, app development, augmented reality, virtual reality, film, motion graphics, and other digital media. The program currently works with major studios and organizations like Nelvana, Nickelodeon, Rise Up Animation, Toon Boom, Ubisoft, Wacom and more to provide mentorship, internship and work placements for students.
