Program Assistants
Cathy Aldea

Catherine is an artist focused in illustration and storytelling, exploring different worlds and capturing warm, exciting moments. When creating, her eyes are on the details and it’s something she loves finding in films, like Easter eggs.
During her time in CREATE, she worked on Depth of Mind as part of the Wacom Multi-Media Mentorship Project, and the Filipino Heritage Night with the Winnipeg Jets. She is also a graduate from the School of Art at the University of Manitoba. One of her favourite CREATE moments was being surprised with a Wacom Cintiq during the end-of-the-year showcase.
Inspired by miniatures, soul and R&B music, and delicious food, Catherine stays curious and finds new ways to express herself through art and craft.
As a Program Assistant, she looks forward to being part of the CREATE animation team and seeing students grow as amazing artists.
Rika Demition

Hello, my name is Rika! I’ve always enjoyed telling stories and creating all kinds of things my brain conjures up. I’ve worked professionally as an animator for about 5 years now and I was an alumni of Sisler CREATE and Vancouver Film School! I also run a small little art shop called Moonset by Rika where I work on many of my passions & interests in during my free time.
Kyla Ramilo

Kyla has had a passion for animation and storytelling since her elementary days and is still ongoing into adulthood. I am a CREATE and VFS Animation alumni, and her favourite Create memory would be doing an internship for Nelvana. I have experience in working as a Scene Setup on animated shows like Super Wish & Best.
And Buster. Now a Program Assistant for CREATE, she can continue her love for the arts while also being helpful to those advancing their skills to the industry.
